Crossing the Streams: Danger! High Voltage!

I ran into the quote above in my Twitter stream.  Been spending more time there to ‘mine’ my network for ways to seek and share and make sense of the world my colleagues and I share.  I used this quote in a discussion on an annotated space here in general:

I used the image quote above from Pablo in order to address an issue the Hypothes.is author made (or what I thought that issue was). I know that these leaps make for a different kind of rhetoric. Why bother? Because I think it makes for a better kind of conversation where image and text, fun and somber, cross over each other and amplify signals. I know. Sometimes the signal is dampened. Too damned bad ;). Maybe that is another affordance of this kind of conversation? It just may be.

All of this reminded me of the Harold Ramis movie, Ghostbusters, where they are warned by uber-geek Egon to never cross the streams of energy from their guns. Well, I am breaking that rule here. Cross the streams from Twitter and Hypothes.is and Harold Jarch and the devil take the hindmost.

And this reminded me of Electric Six’s “Danger! High Voltage!” with that whangle jangle lead that is nothing if not the musical analogy to the beams in Ghostbusters. What are you reminded of? Trigger warning: the video below is provocative.
