A reminder for all you young ‘uns out there. We all die. Some of us are forgotten, some all the way, others mostly all the way. Our stories end, but the stories we have told do not have to. If we are good enough and we care enough.
Here are some folks whose stories I have not told:
Happy Gale
Ed Willard
Jewell Ridings
Dudley Digges
My mother
My father
All my students

A couple of days ago, a song came out of me, quite unexpectedly:
Who hears me sing?
Who hears me cry?
Who will be there at my side when I die?
It was quite grim, a dirge or lamentation; then I remembered how Kevin took my “Silence the key” poem and made it into a rock and roll song, and so I started playing around with both the words and the melody, and the arrangement, and I think it works best as a country and western type song, with the last line something like, “Who’s gonna be there by my side when I’m fixin’ to die?”

How do we get to done with this poem/lyric, Fred? I would like to do more here and collaborate.
