My computer
got all
jammed up
and ground
to a halt
So I look
at my copy of
Leaves of Grass
&
realize:
this book
has never
failed
to work.
It’s pages
are always filled
with
black,
squiggly,
out of its cradle,
endlessly rocking,
the female
equally with
the male,
songs-of-the-rolling-earth magic
that works
every
damned
time.
My computer
got all
jammed up
and ground
to a halt
so I look
in my copy of
Leaves of Grass
&
read.
