Prayers Jammed into Our Own Non-Denominational Wailing Walls

I re-found a poem of Kevin’s and was inspired to create a response. Here is Kevin’s poem:

December 14, 2021
I may return to the song
I thought I might sing,
the one I was writing
that crumbled before
the b r i d g e,

right there
where the gap _ _ became gaping,
[ ]
a hole that seemed
too big to be making
space to fit my words in

I was inspired to write this:

Make

your own personal

wailing wall

in the failed infrastructures

everywhere,

paper & ink

bridging

the gaps

in the fatigued

metal

and wood

and concrete

in our own selves,

prayers buried

in our

broken selves.

I was also inspired to create my own personal wailing wall to send prayers into the aether. Prayers to whom?  Does it matter?  Not to me:

Folded tight, filled with the energy of intention :

Jammed into the oldest wall I know, close by, the log home we live in, built circa 1865.

Thanks to Kevin for the inspiration.  And for the wailing wall for inspiration.
