Is it an abstraction, a legal fiction for which and from which we claim institutional imperatives? Is it company as in &#8216;a group of actors getting together to put on a show&#8217;? Is it a few good women and men, a saving remnant? Godin&#8217;s question is whether the company allows you to care? Well&#8230;better to ask how <strong><em>you<\/em> <\/strong>allow yourself to care. For good or ill, vision statement notwithstanding, institutions are incapable of caring. Corporations are not people. They do not make good company.
