{"id":8248,"date":"2021-02-03T18:16:04","date_gmt":"2021-02-03T18:16:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/impedagogy.com\/wp\/?p=8248"},"modified":"2021-02-03T18:19:18","modified_gmt":"2021-02-03T18:19:18","slug":"using-a-bot-to-write-a-55-word-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/impedagogy.com\/wp\/blog\/2021\/02\/03\/using-a-bot-to-write-a-55-word-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Using a Bot to Write a 55-Word Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am writing a 55-word short story alongside my English 200, Intro to Lit class.\u00a0 I have laid out the criteria for the assignment, but it is often difficult to get those who can&#8217;t imagine being creative writers to&#8230; write creatively.\u00a0 In my research project for my E300 class I am exploring this question: will &#8220;mighty scary AI&#8221; replace composition instructors at the college level?\u00a0 Something I have been using to find keywords is super Chrome extension, <a href=\"https:\/\/keywordseverywhere.com\/\">Keywords Everywhere<\/a>. I have a short screencast below to show you why I think it is super.\u00a0 It solves a problem many of my students have in starting their research&#8211;finding worthy keywords.<\/p>\n<p>I used these initial keywords search Google, &#8220;bot writing&#8221;. The screencast below is very rough but gives you the idea on cracking the keyword problem.\u00a0 BTW, Keywords Everywhere is a Search Engine Optimizing tool designed to game the Google AdSense environment. Now I am using it to game the research environment.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/an-v93mu65k\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This is a long way around the barn toward telling you how I used a bot to help me write my 55-word short story.<\/p>\n<p>First, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/app.inferkit.com\/demo\">Talk to Transformer.<\/a> When you get there start with a beginning to a story. I started with this:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"position: relative; padding-bottom: calc(56.22362869198312% + 42px); height: 0;\"><iframe style=\"position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/nimbusweb.me\/s\/share\/5165403\/qtyngpzmguqptx92e4yb\/?embed=true\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Second, move the text to a word processor. I use IA Writer because it is a no-nonsense text editor. Easy and distraction free. I copied the original text from Talk to Transformer to IA Writer and spent about fifteen minutes on getting what I wanted down to 55 words, a requirement for the assignment.
