Great point. This is part of that “getting to know everyone in the room” that teachers do (should always do). A week-long camp makes that more difficult. Time is short. So when the writing thread went from me (via my shirts) to her (via her mom’s insights about her poetry life), we made a connection as writers. Those are neat moments.
