Balm of Gilead for Choices Made that Must Be Lived With

I am looking for ways to come to terms both negatively and positively with the presidential election. Constructively and destructively.  I am not one of those who feel that I have to paint every awful thing with a broad brush of positivity. In this I agree with Laura Hilliger’s latest newsletter. Hey, when the coffee’s bad, spit it out on the ground.

No, better to shine the light on the problem and deal with it than to pretend like Pangloss in Candide that this is the best of all possible worlds.

Like most folks, I look for solace here and now with my family. If they are all asleep, like they are now, then I turn to poetry or to Mister Rogers.  In the embed below, I am using a mobile app, “Touchcast”, to bring a bit of Fred Rogers to you as well.

And if you don’t think Fred Rogers could kick ass, watch this amazing Congressional testimony as he rages softly against the dying of the light.
