A Saturday Morning Digital Feldgang: Breadcrumbs by Berkman-Klein

I am taking a digital feldgang.  Walk with me.

1.  I follow lots of stuff at Berkman-Klein.  This is an announcement of their 2018-2019 community of up-and-comers.  Worth a look. I might expand the diversity of my community.  I follow the Twitter links so thoughtfully provided by the page’s authors.

2. And it’s a far-flung and fascinating cohort.

3. Including Jesse Dheere’s Twitter account.
4. I follow her and notice she has Twitter lists. Hmmm.
5. I snarf up “Diversity in Tech”  into my RSS aggregator (Inoreader).
6. Back to the Berkman-Klein announcement and more Twitter folk.
8. Where I found in her latest blog entry this rather amazing site about BookTubers, young folk who review books on the YouTube platform.
9. And I think this is why BookTube has become so popular, the charming Ariel Bissett.
10. I subscribe to her channel (and make sure to click the notifications bell).
11. Here are the books she recommends that nobody shows enough love to:

Grapefruit: https://www.bookdepository.com/Grapef… Underground Overground: https://www.bookdepository.com/Underg…
Why Poetry: https://www.bookdepository.com/Why-Po…
George Orwell: A Life: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7…
Flaneuse: https://www.bookdepository.com/Flaneu… Scratch: https://www.bookdepository.com/Scratc…

12. Back to Berkman-Klein.  No. Wait. A side trip to Matthew Zapruder’s book from Ariel’s BookTube above:  Why Poetry.  Here is the Google Book link to it  and no, the title doesn’t have a question mark.  I also check it’s availability while I am on that site. Et voila, it is at my local library.  I make a note in Google Keep and then return to B-K.
13. And I do this back and forth passing ofthe shuttle of information to weave this net, capturing some fish and letting others through. It takes awhile.
14. OK, I am back now.  Where has this one Berkkman-Klein post led me?  Everything from my morning newsletter came from this foray.  I will continue to be fed by this net.  I have made myself more diverse in my RSS and twitter feeds.  And it has been fun throwing down these breadcrumbs of my network feldgangs.  Worthy morning throwing manna on the water.  Maybe you can share a few breadcrumbs for me to follow.
