This is where we are in some states. My Kentucky legislature is not quite here yet, but they are edging the Overton window toward all guns, all the time, and everywhere. There is a bill being considered now that would allow conceal carry without a permit anywhere it is now allowed with a permit. Next step is to allow conceal carry everywhere: bars, churches, and my classroom. That is when I quit. When I read this Twitter thread I was not encouraged, but I think my fighting ire is raised. Read this and let the ire rise up and then do something. I know I will.
(BTW, I have subscribed to ThreadReader. It cost me $30, but I think I will get quite a bit of value from it. I have been looking for something to replicate Storify and this partly does that. Looking forward to hearing what you think. You can also archive threads into pdf. That might prove very handy.

This is so unreal. I can just imagine the glee and cheering going on in the board rooms of companies making millions of dollars from providing these training sessions, the guns, and all the other “safety” stuff.

It is unreal that I am thinking of writing a short play about it. Glad you dropped by, Dan. The work load this semester is just staggering. I teach five classes and almost as many students as I taught in high school. They do pay me to learn so there IS that. I am glad to be able to do this. Very glad, but it reminds of high school and being on the wrestling squad. I get off of work and feel like I have left all my energy on the field just like I did in wrestling.
