Trailblazing

This is part of my desire to feedforward into the stream of the emerging future by rewilding my own world as well as my reader’s world.  The poem that follows is an instruction on how to write a poem.  The directions are not clear, but I don’t think that embracing the surprising landmarks of your own life can ever be a linear path.  Use them as you will. I hypothesize that poetry, doodling, humming a new tune, creating a chord on a piano that you don’t know how to play, that all of these and many more paths of your own making will rewild and recommence your living. Try out the poem, see if it fits the signal of your own heart.

Trailblazing

Catch your novel thoughts,
your beginning mind:
intervene
& make them wild again.
As soon as this new mapping
becomes foolhardy habit,
square up, rebalance, look deep into the noise.
Dwell a moment…
From there it is
but a short walk
into the mouth of the poem
that landmarks your day.
Fall in.
The only fail
is not to fall.

These are the kinds of ‘things’ I want to make and share with you for your own rewilding possibilities.  That is one of the futures I want to live in.

Thank you so much for the invitation to look into the noise. I’ll let you know what I see/feel. I am your rewilding student.
