Here is how I drill down into my writing notebook. The first task is to generate something every morning (or whenever it suits you). Get it down somewhere and sometime every day. In the image below you can see what amounts to the end of one day and the writing for a second day. It occurred to me as I was highlighting these writings for phrases and sentences of interest that perhaps something I had written the day before fit with something else from today.
