Annotate?
Navigate?
Negotiate?
Which comes first?
Matters not,
just touch base and back
to home.

These liminal acts spread in all directions.
and the crossing of it is all the same.
Yet…
The step across the threshold
From beach to ocean
Is as different from ocean to beach
as we can know,
is as different as from pasture to hedgerow
and from hedgerow to pasture
as we can imagine.

(By the by, how did the mouse’s bones
end up in the wood stove’s ashes?)
