I am about to the place in the summer where I need the deep cool pools of water that are not found just anyplace.  Around cave country they are known as ‘blue holes’.  On the Green River, the river that bisects my county, they are numerous. All you do is beach the canoe and swim into where the cave water empties into river.  Warm-less warm-cool-cooler-56 degrees F.

Here is one:

Of course, there is a point to be made about an analogous blue hole in this blog.

Here is one of my posts that, as far as I can discern,  no one paid a lick of attention to. I love it for its content and for the process of working out loud and for the complement of tools working loosely but together.

Now I think I need to go deep into the links. That was the original quest: create a deep end to dive into and see where that took me.  Cool-cooler-coolest. Blue hole home.

I went there again, and now left some thoughts in the margins of the swimming hole. Here. I wonder. We do so often float, but we risk sinking, too, when we get overwhelmed by the information. Your dive to look deeper at the links and resources that someone bothered to leave behind for someone (you, me, us) is interesting. Where will it lead you? Did that other post lead you anywhere? (Here, perhaps?)

I am having trouble with my Hypothes.is acct so I will read the comments when I get some support from them.

And, yes, this has led me to another spiral around the links here. I will keep you posted and try to think out loud about the process as I go. I think these are valuable tools and valid processes…we shall see.

I also went back and took a look. I missed it the first time around. Your reasons for creating the archive are similar to why I’ve created the library on my own site.

You and I have exchanged thoughts about the massive amount of information that we’re exposed to every day. I keep talking about trying to bring people involved with non-school, volunteer-based tutor/mentor programs into this space, but then am reminded about how few hours these people have available and how much self motivation is needed to make the dive.

You, Kevin and others who are teaching students as young as elementary school are doing necessary work . I wrote about this last Friday. http://tutormentor.blogspot.com/2017/06/urban-youth-as-data-scientists-and.html
